Activating Informal Influence: The Overlooked Lever of Change

In today’s cross-functional, matrixed organizations, influence rarely follows the org. chart. Join us February 26 from 8 to 9:30 AM Central Time at The Heights Community Center for an introduction to network-based employee listening—a new frontier in employee listening that integrates survey data with organizational network analysis (ONA) to reveal hidden influencers, informal communities, and the relational dynamics that drive experience, performance, and change. Attendees will learn how managers’ roles are evolving, how to identify influence archetypes (including those shaping AI adoption), and how relational analytics can transform employee listening into a lever for measurable business impact.

Key Takeaways:

  • Apply relational analytics to identify informal communities of collaboration and key influencers to drive scalable organizational change.
  • Leverage survey-based organizational network analysis (active ONA) to uncover hidden networks and influencers.
  • Identify and differentiate influencer archetypes and understand their impact on engagement, performance, and AI adoption.
  • Evaluate the evolving role of managers and use relational insights to enhance manager effectiveness and people development programs.
  • Integrate relational analytics into employee listening programs to surface hidden dynamics, strengthen workplace relationships, and inform actionable strategies to improve experience, culture, and retention.
