Breaking Down the Buzzwords: What Is Employee Experience?

Join us August 28, 2025 from 8:00 am - 9:30 am Central time at The Heights Community Center where April Neal, Director of Engagement & Experience Strategy at Patterson Consulting Group will get down to basics on one of the buzziest words in corporate jargon and LinkedIn chatter: employee experience.

April has successfully used her experience design skills to create the kind of employee experience that helps people and organizations thrive. Employee experience is so much more than a buzzword, and it takes more than a pizza party or company swag to make it great.

In this session, April will break down what experience design is and how to make meaningful change with experiential design thinking. You will learn:

  • what experience design is and what makes it both emotionally and financially powerful
  • about the concept of the employee lifecycle and how to apply it
  • what employees are missing in the workplace and how we can use experience design to refocus.

About the Speaker

April Neal

With over 18 years in the experience field, April Neal started her career in the themed entertainment and attractions industry, working with such clients as Walt Disney Imagineering, Anheuser Busch, Kennedy Space Center, the St, Louis Cardinals, and the St. Louis Blues. Her work pulls from traditional design, psychology, sociology, chronic online tendencies, and plenty of her own workplace disappointments.
