Program Summary

Are you ready to practice a skill to transform your organization or personal initiative?

Join the Saint Louis Organizational Network’s (STL-ODN) Executive Team via Zoom for an interactive opportunity conducted across two workshops one week apart. We will explore the generative nature of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) as an alternative to problem solving approaches, like Change Management, to reimagine and unlock our organizational potential. You will unleash your creativity while learning practical and actionable skills. Everyone, no matter your role or area of expertise, is welcome to collaborate in this 2-part, virtual, hands-on workshop. We hope you are inspired to learn more to apply within your own life and organization.

    • In the first session on March 9, you’ll get an introduction to core concepts of Appreciative Inquiry, conduct interviews and learn basic features of Miro’s collaborative whiteboard. As we re-imagine STL-ODN as a case study, you will participate in group activities and discussions to create a shared vision for the future.
    • In the final session on March 16, you’ll continue to learn the various tools and techniques that you can use to implement Appreciative Inquiry in your own organization or life. You will turn insights and inspiration from the first session into an action plan.

    Learning Objectives:

By the end of both sessions, you will have a basic understanding of how to:

    • Apply the Appreciative Inquiry approach of focusing on strengths rather than weaknesses to identify what’s working well within an organization.
    • Conduct Appreciative Inquiry interviews and use the data collected to identify core strength areas and potential for growth.
    • Develop collaborative skills working together to re-imagine an organization or individual initiative using Miro’s virtual whiteboard to map out the strengths and potential.
    • Practice action planning to co-create a new vision for STL-ODN as a case study. As a bonus, all participants will have access to the Miro board used during the workshop and a blank template to conduct their own Appreciative Inquiry sessions.
Note: Miro offers a free version of the tool.
