Program Summary
Companies no longer have the luxury of expecting day-to-day operations to fall into a predictable pattern that is interrupted only occasionally by short bursts of change. The new normal is continuous change – not the absence of change. For OD practitioners, this is not new but seems to be accelerating in importance each year. At the center are people issues which often drive the success or failure of adapting to change. Yet even with best intentions, many of these change efforts fail in some capacity 60-80% of the time.
While organizations look to change their culture in a variety of ways, an imperative for change often centers around innovation. In every industry, leaders are faced with the need to achieve growth, develop new products and services, redefine customer experiences, enter new markets, create better internal processes and business models, and develop new strategies. Responding to these needs takes tremendous efforts—and many leaders are unsure how to drive innovation alongside with managing constant change and existing operations. The focus of the session is to provide guidance to the OD audience on methodologies, primarily focused on innovation, to change the behaviors and practices of people within their organization.
