Join us for a fun evening celebrating our organization, making new connections, recognizing our dedicated volunteers, and an interactive program on Changemakers.  Once a year, we like to practice the power of pause and say thank you to all our members and dedicated volunteers.  This year, we are doing that through a new kind of event called our Annual Member Party.  There will be plenty of opportunity to network and socialize with colleagues while enjoying Schlafly food and drink.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

When Marketing meets OD: Professional Change-making for Professionals Who Want to Make Change

In the 1840s, a physician discovered that it was his peers that were inadvertently killing women in childbirth...and he had the indisputable data to back it up. When he presented his findings, his colleagues excoriated and rejected him.

They were right to do so.

In lower Manhattan there is a child’s clothing store that actively practices discrimination.

It’s patrons - and non-patrons - couldn’t be happier or more thankful.

It is essential for OD professionals serious about their work to be aware of the dynamics that make - and do not make - change happen for leaders and their organizations. These changes have everything to do with the dynamics embedded within marketing...but not marketing how you think it is. In this session we will not explore product, place, price, and promotion, rather we will explore empathy, status, connection, stories, tension, tribes, and generous attention. Come ready for a dynamic and interactive session.

Travis Wilson - Intentional Professional

Travis Wilson has been developing leaders for over 15 years in the higher education, healthcare, energy, and aerospace industries. His work centers around creating bold, intentional leaders that push the boundaries of helping others and furthering society. He has spoken at international conferences and has coached people across the world.
