PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Effective communication is one of the most important skills an OD practitioner brings to any situation.  It is key to achieving desired outcomes and staying on purpose.  For our October program, participants will learn about the Language and Behavior (LAB) Profile, a communication method developed by Roger Bailey and based upon applications from the field of Neuro-linguistic Programming.  Through practice of the LAB Profile method, participants will expand their ability to listen more deeply for greater connectedness and avoid “misfires” that can result in costly delays.  Whether one is conducting an organizational assessment, developing strategy with top management or coaching individuals for success, the techniques learned during this program will be applicable for gaining buy-in and keeping people motivated.

Under the guidance of Karen Drake, a certified LAB Profile trainer, participants will to learn to increase the probability for cooperation and action using real workplace examples.  Participants will apply the LAB Profile to determine what will trigger and maintain a person's motivation in a given context.  By focusing on HOW the person answers questions vs. WHAT they say, participants will uncover how the person internally processes information.  Participants will then practice using influencing language tailored to result in maximum impact for that person.
