PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

When faced with organizational change, why are some professionals able to embrace change as an opportunity, while others consistently struggle? The Agility Factor is defined as a set of key characteristics that are common to highly agile professionals, giving them the ability to manage change as an advantageous rather than disruptive event.  For our February 2013 program, Pat Garey, Talent Management Manager at Doe Run Company, will lead a conversation around how personal agility facilitates organizational change.

Using the results of interviews with over 100 business men and women regarding personal agility in the workplace, we will discuss the Agility Factor in the context of a case study of a major corporate change management event.  Through discussion and the use of an Agility Project Worksheet tool, participants will learn how to identify highly agile individuals and how agile employees leverage change.

In preparation for our program, consider these questions:

  • What do you see as the key characteristics of an agile professional?
  • How do you, as an OD practitioner, develop these characteristics in your leadership?
