PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Organization Development is often a journey of learning and discovery, and many organizations begin this journey without knowing what they will find along the way.  Those that keep an open mind will often arrive at unexpected solutions that help the organization to overcome obstacles and accelerate growth.  Rik Nemanick and Bob Grace, consultants at The Leadership Effect (TLE), recently took a St. Louis-based, 800+ employee organization through just such a journey.

Our June program will take the form of a case study.  TLE's client was trying to affect a significant change in strategy while dealing with declining employee engagement.  TLE consultants will discuss their OD process of gathering their diagnostic data, problem solving with the executive client and structuring an intervention to address an issue the client didn’t know they had.  Participants will review the diagnostic data TLE collected and discuss what they would have done for the client.  The consultants will then describe the process of the intervention and the continuous learning focus group design they used to create a sensing system to track the effectiveness of the intervention over time.

CONTRIBUTOR:

Rik Nemanick, Ph.D., and Bob Grace, Ph.D. are the principal consultants at The Leadership Effect.  Since 2006, they have been working together to help organizations develop their capabilities and their leaders. They have worked with many of St. Louis’s premier organizations, including Monsanto, Ameren, Boeing, Mallinckrodt and Edward Jones.  They both earned their doctorates in Organizational Psychology from Saint Louis University.
