PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Healthcare is changing in complex and rapid ways that require agility and strong leadership.  BJC HealthCare is actively working to develop people managers to become strong leaders and to understand and apply leadership within the organization.  Commitment for leadership development and employee learning comes from the top at BJC and is woven into their culture.

Within three years, BJC built a diverse and integrated model of learning, including a multi-tiered learning program at their Leadership Development Center, a talent management program, an employee engagement program and a leadership acceleration program.  Integrating the model and providing tactical on-site programs, actions and consultation has had many successes, as well as some bumps along the way.

For our Friday, October 2012 program, Dr. Thomas Ahr, BJC Director of Leadership Development, will discuss the integrated learning approach developed at BJC.

To open the program, Dr. Ahr will case study the BJC model, including the approach and guiding principles to engagement and leadership development and how the model weaves in talent management and organization development.

After introducing the BJC model, Dr. Ahr will pose questions to attendees and lead a discussion on the BJC approach, strategic and tactical implications, best practices and obstacles.
