PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Can activating hidden networks overcome persistent problems with change?

Two facts stand out from research regarding organizational change: 1) the pace and complexity of change is increasing; and 2) we fail at change twice as often as we succeed.  The intersection of these two facts is like the collision of tectonic plates; something has to give.  Leaders are facing twenty-first century "must change" scenarios concerning competitive threats, innovation, costs, global expansion, corporate social responsibility, alliances, employee engagement, mergers, strategy execution, customer focus, and technology disruptions with twentieth-century tools.  Existing approaches to change are simply too slow, cumbersome and ineffective.  Twenty-first century tools are needed to cope with the volume and pace of pressures leaders are facing today.

This session introduces a new approach to change, involving the activation of hidden organizational networks and boundary spanning leadership practices to accelerate change and improve the chances of success.

Participants will learn about this new paradigm of change and the importance of networks and boundary spanning through discussion and an interactive activity.  CCL’s research study and findings in this area will be presented, and participants will have the opportunity to apply Boundary Spanning strategies and practices, and walk away with practical tools to use in their own OD practice.

There will be time before and after the formal program for networking over hors d’oeurves and drinks.  This is a special program you will not want to miss!
