DESCRIPTION:

Although motivational and attitudinal patterns (MAPs) were identified over two decades ago, their application to organizations and leadership only emerged on a larger scale basis since the beginning of the 21st century.  MAPs are different, for example, than personality and do not represent a competency.  In addition to being unique in the realm of human constructs, MAPs have a broad range of applications from marketing, recruiting, hiring, coaching, development, managing, to succession planning.

First, Dr. Harshman will describe what MAPs are and how they apply to human and organizational performance including a summary of the two assessment tools used to measure MAPs.  He will present an overview of the range of applications including presentation of 4 case studies: team development, leadership development and succession planning, modeling excellence for performance management, and culture/communications and change. Carl will bring Tom Etzkorn of the

Wyman Centerto to participate in group dialogue/questions and answers.

After hearing the case studies, we will conduct table discussions focused on topics related to the implications of the case studies for organizational development followed by group summaries and a Q&A wrap-up.

NOTE:  After the program registrants/attendees receive an email with a link to the program materials.  For this program, we will collect the points from the table discussions and group Q& A and them publish along with the presentation materials.
