DESCRIPTION

Virtual Work is not just a fad, new device, or temporary employee perk, it’s a new form of work that organizations around the world are leveraging to increase operational efficiencies and better attract and retain top talent.  Organizations are turning to Virtual Work to increase employee productivity and retention rates, reduce real-estate and overhead costs, and increase employee life balance and overall competitiveness.  Virtual Work allows employees to focus more attention on the results they produce, and less on office distractions, long commutes, and family pressures.  The United States Federal government now mandates that every federal agency allow 25% of its workforce to Virtual Work and is currently looking into legislation that will mandate all federal employees are eligible for Virtual Work, unless proven otherwise by their respective agencies.

In the program Building Virtual Work Organizations, Jill Adams, CEO of HR Telecommuting, will start by walking participants through a strategic analysis of why both public and private organizations are moving toward increasing Virtual Work.  Case studies, statistics, research reports, and first hand knowledge will be shared with opportunity for participant discussion.  A tactical road map for building a robust, successful program will be outlined, explaining essential components such as: policies and procedures, training, and technology requirements. Participants will interact experientially to learn key differences in employee and manager perceptions.  Upon completion, participants will have actionable information that can be used to either improve current Virtual Work programs, assess what has been built, or begin planning for the future development of such a program.
