Employee development research has shown one of the best ways for individuals to develop is through developmental relationships. Mentoring is one example of a developmental relationship where individuals can purposefully grow and learn. OD practitioners are often called upon to design and implement mentoring programs as part of employee and leadership development. Key questions you may ask yourself when embarking on development of a mentoring program include: What should we expect out of a mentoring program for both the participants and the organization? What are key elements that make a successful mentoring program? How do we create meaningful mentoring relationships? During this program, Rik Nemanick, Principal Consultant with The Leadership Effect, will discuss his approach to mentoring programs as well as engage the audience to discuss their experiences. Rik will discuss his experience helping many organizations launch and maintain successful programs, as well as incorporate the design behind the St. Louis ODN Mentoring Program as a case study for how mentoring can come together in an organization.
