PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Large-Scale Change Initiatives

Business leaders routinely call upon OD practitioners to help with the challenges of “change management.”  This forum offers the OD professional an opportunity to learn how to approach the challenges inherent to large-scale organizational change.

The session will enable participants to:

  • Learn a technique to use with leaders for identifying large sale changes that are transformational, realization focused, and business imperative
  • Examine the difference between the process of creating awareness versus building commitment to a change
  • Discuss how the lack of creating sufficient upfront understanding, commitment, and alignment among organizational leaders can place an initiative on the path to failure
  • Learn two principles to apply at any level of the organization that clarify who is the “change sponsor”

The first part of the session will focus on how to identify a large-scale organizational change. The remainder of the time will include a combination of concept explanation, practical example, and small group discussion about three areas to address as part of these types of initiatives.
